Sticking to daily routain and daily goals will help also in a great measure to be more productive and effective, in our work and endeavours.

Same here, Cara. When I’m done for the day, I’m done. I also apply these rules when I work from home. When it’s time to quit, I close my laptop and get on with my life.

Thanks for reading, Irfan. Great that your whole team is on board with that. That’s the only way it can work in my experience. Let me know how it goes.

If you know the root cause, you can help build a solution. If it is ego, how else can you get gratification? If it is “workaholic”, how else can you redirect that energy? If it is to escape home, how can you change the personal situation so you don’t want to be in the office? All those things relate to cutting back on work.

I worked “less” i.e a normal working day of 7-8 hours on Mondays and Fridays so I could commute back to my home in France (I live an hour from the border).

On the 10-hour days I was “done” halfway through the day. They were way too long. And if you add on breaks and things, you’re at work for 12 hours or something crazy like that. Never again.

I work for myself now so I could end up working too much but I know that it’s ultimately counter productive. Also I’m a naturally lethargic person so I just can’t power through – I don’t have the energy. I can only do short bursts and apparently that’s better anyway. Thank goodness!
