Competition isn’t actually about mimicking others …its exactly not that- its marketeers and some corp training houses that drive the message that competition is about this mimicking – at the elite level in sport do you see a swimmer in his or her lane looking at their competitor trying to mimick their movements patterns – NO! in fact if they did they would lose focus on their own style and system and they would NOT compete at their best- instead they race their own race and compete to their best – having the other person in the next lane merely serves a positive to push harder to try catch the other swimmer – competition is about having the other person there to “chase” because if they were not there one would not push themselves as hard- its a psychological phenomenon…if the other gets to line first then on the day they won, were better or have their own system better developed….you thank them for being there because if they weren’t you wouldn’t have pushed as hard. Perhaps hard to follow and a different view of competition – so I disagree with much in this article because it hasn’t the true definition of comp
