I see this principle can be used in many different places. In work, in talking to people – stop before you bore them or make them angry, stop working/training before you overdo it. Stop playing that game before you grow bored of it.

There is a word for our wish to get more than is good for us. That word is “greed”. Greed is not only about money, it is about attention, power, sex, entertainment and thrills, tasty foods, material possesions even roles we play in life. Greed is to want to write that one more article, check those 10 more emails, code one more feature. We all have needs that keep us alive and moving. But where does need end and greed begin? I have been asking this for myself these days.

A part of wisdom is to know where to stop.

Thank you for the great article!

Thanks for the reminder.

Although, I feel like it only applies to certain situations. I would love to leave work at the height of my day, but that is not an option. It seems like it would apply perfectly to personal situations though. Regardless, this is fantastic advice. Great read, thanks!
